Anita Cramer Corpas
Visual artist

Anita Cramer Corpas is a Danish visual artist with a background as a journalist and photographer. Her artistic practice revolves around exploring the traces of humanity in the world — in nature, in society, and within our own bodies.

In the series The Five she examines the faces of power, portraying central figures in Danish politics. In the series My Note in Holosæn, her gaze turns toward the fragile balance between nature and culture, reflecting on both destruction and resilience.

In 2023, her work was recognized with the Audience Award at Dronninglund Art Center — a juried exhibition where only 160 works were selected from more than 600 submissions.

Across all her work, art is not an answer but a question. An invitation to look at power, at nature, at ourselves — and perhaps to discover that fragility and strength are always found side by side.

Exploring societal conditions through art is a powerful and thought-provoking endeavor, providing artists with the opportunity to engage with and comment on the complexity of the world around them.

Anita Cramer Corpas possesses the ability to reflect upon and depict various societal issues in her works. Whether addressing inequality, discrimination, environmental concerns, or political unrest, art serves as a pl
atform to visually contemplate these issues and attempt to convey them to public consciousness.

This exploration may encompass themes related to race, gender, sexuality, and other aspects of identity, contributing to a broader conversation about societal diversity and inclusivity.

She aims to function as a critical observer, perhaps a catalyst for change, but certainly as an invitation to a broader dialogue about the challenges and opportunities that shape our collective life.
